Feeling I’m already having an early taste of spring when I stumble upon something like this while walking around town!💖🌸 // Sentindo que já tô tendo um gostinho de primavera mais cedo quando dou de cara com uma coisa assim andando pela cidade!💖🌸

#TBT when i planned a tour of scottish castles based on their relevance to the life of mary queen of scots. this feels a bit like a high school history class powerpoint presentation but if u want to nerd out about it like i did:
i. linlithgow palace - mary stuart was born here on december 8, 1542.
ii. me standing in the exact room where she was born (!!!) iii. stirling castle - infant mary became queen when she was six days old and was taken here for protection. she was coronated when she was less than a year old and grew up at stirling for five years before she was sent to france.
iv. me standing in the chapel at stirling - mary was coronated in the chapel here but the actual building has since been rebuilt.
v. holyrood palace - mary frequently stayed here. in 1556 her husband lord darnley and a group of nobles gruesomely murdered mary's secretary rizzio, who darnley was jealous of, in the middle of a dinner party. there's a plaque on the wall inside where rizzio died.
vi. edinburgh castle - mary gave birth here to her son james vi of scotland / i of england, on june 19, 1556.
vii. craigmillar castle - several nobles loyal to mary signed the craigmillar pact here, agreeing to murder her husband lord darnley.
viii. huntingtower castle - when james vi was a young king he was kidnapped by the ruthvens and held prisoner in this castle.
ix. dumferline abbey and palace - james vi had the palace built for his wife queen anne, who loved staying here. ...AND THAT’S ALL! THX FOR HUMOURING ME IF YOU READ THIS FAR. ✌🏻👑
Architecture variety in Zürich, Switzerland📷
