Have you ever shot an image that lit a fire under you, that you felt transformed you from just a person with a camera to a ‘photographer’? I avoided referring to myself by that term for many years, feeling unworthy of it. When I shot this image I immediately knew it would change the way I viewed myself. I initially dismissed the capture as a ‘lucky shot’ but in hindsight I can see that it wasn’t just luck but also hours of practise and good intuition which helped me choose the best angle for the light, knowing which perspective to choose, at what moment to click the shutter and what settings to choose and then being able to process it to bring it to its full potential. I’d love to hear from you if you have had a similar light bulb moment or a transformative picture.
