There's something about the desert that's mesmerizing. The vast dusty roads, the wide open space... It makes you appreciate the reflection of the rivers when you discover them.
This is the Green River. When I descended down into the valley on the White Rim, the temperature dropped significantly. I put on an extra layer. The beauty captivated me — conflicted with stopping to take it all in and moving to stay warm.
Contemplating whether to explore the desert by bike? Do it.
The most beautiful sight ever. The time we have spent hiking and exploring the outdoors has truly been the best investment I have made in my family. They are stinkers for sure but these moments make it worth it.

Looking into the Needles area of Canyonlands National Park from the southeast corner of the park. The snakelike mesa in the lower right corner is Cathedral Point. It isn't actually in the park, but is surrounded by it on three sides, jutting into the park like a needle. The larger mesa to its upper right is Cedar Mesa, and is inside Canyonlands.
❄️ Fact: President Theodore Roosevelt expanded Yosemite National Park to include Yosemite Valley and home of giant Sequoia trees Mariposa Grove after a camping trip with John Muir.
He described a night camping in the Grove as "lying in a great solemn cathedral, far vaster and more beautiful than any built by the hands of man." 🌲🌲🌲
