L'endroit le plus insolite de boondocking urbain. 🌉

We tend to always focus on the future and how we want things to be after doing this, that, or the other thing for X amount of time, but we rarely stop to be proud of ourselves for getting to where we are now. Let’s do that today. What are you proud of yourself for? I’ll go first, I’m proud of myself for moving to a new state that I’ve been dreaming about living in for years! Your turn —> Go! 💥🤘🗣
I like the imagery of the Barrel Cactus. ⠀⠀
Self-protected. Patiently waiting for the right time to bloom. And if you don't approach it just right, it will cut you! ⠀
Also the only time I miss living in So Cal is when the desert is in bloom. That stuff is pure magic.
Hiking the Narrows in Zion was a completely new way of experiencing a canyon, and it was incredible every step of the way. Never knowing what beauty to expect around each and every corner left us with a constant set of wonder and we completely lost track of time; next thing we knew, it was 3 and 1/2 hours later. Nobody I'd rather do it with other than @sammalise. Isn't this what exploring is all about?

I love my little mountain man and that little smirk. 😍 Its so fun to watch him explore the world.
Unfortunately there’s going to be no exploring for us for the next couple days cause of a nasty cold. 😒 Sick kiddos are the worst, he’s been soo grumpy and I hate seeing him feeling miserable. But I can’t complain about how cuddly he’s been. Getting to be someone’s mom, the one they want to comfort them when they don’t feel good, makes your heart burst. I just wish i could make him better.
So hopefully the fresh snow will last a few days cause for now it’s just going to be lots of snuggles & popsicles.
I miss trees. When it is windy and the dust picks up, the atmosphere reminds me of pollen season in the southeast. Dust in my nose, on my lips, in my eyelashes. I don’t see any lightening bugs, butterflies, bees or mosquitoes, even though it is sunny and warm most days. The sunsets take my breath away. Dry heat is still hot, I don’t care what they say. I already have a tan because the sun is always there. Cacti still catch me off guard. The diversity in desert kinda blows my mind, friend. It’s all the same but so different too. Impossibly two things at once.
Arizona, you are a reckoning.
This is NOT photoshopped. Lucky enough to have this guy validate that I was also NOT hallucinating at the base area of Buttermilk yesterday...I love cats but this was slightly terrifying at first sight 😂😺
Morning sun had spirits high as we marched into my last ice climb of the season.☀️ Little did I know that I would soon to be air lifted off and fed copious amounts of the ever so fun laughing gas in a few hours. My only concern in the ambulance was “Did I just pee my pants!?” As the gas kicked in. 🌈✨
Life is glorious, but life is also wretched. Appreciating the gloriousness inspires us, encourages us, cheers us up, gives us new perspectives, and energizes us. On the other hand - wretchedness - life’s painful aspect - softens us up. Knowing pain is a very important ingredient for being there for another person. The wretchedness humbles us and softens us. Gloriousness and wretchedness need each other, they go together in this life. .
Yesterday, when I drove to the gym, it was the first time I automatically knew which lanes I needed to get into while entering and exiting the freeway, and driving on the streets. Maybe it sounds ridiculous, but it was a nice feeling having a sense of direction for a brief time :) #littlewins

“I don’t think they really walk like that on the moon, it just doesn’t seem progressive.”
The raw power and beauty of the ocean... Waves were crashing against the rocks and ascending into the air higher than we’d ever seen. A humbling experience to witness.. With every big wave, the only thing we could do was gasp in disbelief
From warm and sunny to a downright blizzard... That’s been the name of the game on this trip. Is it really an adventure if everything goes as planned? In my opinion, the second guessing and constant change of plans is what adventure is all about
