This is an Isabelline shrine taken at Basai, yesterday during the Big Bird Day event. It is a beautiful bird and was hardly a few feet away from us. It was sitting on its favourite spot. Unfortunately, Basai is not what it used to be anymore. @kavinanda had visited it only some time back, but now there is a vast difference. A patch of land with water has been completely dumped over with rubbish, and the water levels are lower than before. Reefs and aquatic vegetation is also being removed for fishing, and the habitat is dwindling due to encroachers looking for pay profit. The road has been cut to half the length, with muddy and dirty patches of land existing. When will humans learn? It pains me to look at these habitats in the condition they are. Raise your voice for the government to protect all areas after proper identifying them as habitats. It’s time for action, before there habitats also disappear. Haryana government needs to come in and take measures, before it’s too late.
