Meet Tyra @tyra_hallsenius_lindhe from Vaxholm, Sweden 🇸🇪 “I'm a Seedaholic! I have been a “gardener” since I was a very little girl. To grow my own vegetables, herbs, fruit and berries has always been something that I’ve enjoyed doing and I could not imagine a life without growing stuff.
I live in a country with fairly long and cold winters but every year I challenge myself to extend the growing season as much as possible. The goal is to have a four-season harvest and all grown from seed.
I’m a No-dig gardener and I like to work with nature, therefore I invite a lot of species both from the flora as well as from the fauna into my garden which I call Tyra’s Garden – The biodiversity garden.
My potager is about 200 sq metres and in the middle of my garden I have an 18 square metres greenhouse that I’ve designed and built myself, mostly from recycled old windows and other materials.
My favourite plants to grow are all the amazing Brassicas and wonderful heirloom tomatoes, with origins from all over the world. As my garden is “strictly wild”, I use the Companion-planting method, I combine my favourites with flowers, herbs and vegetables into more or less well thought-out combinations.”
