Probably one of our most important tasks to date. This actually isn’t related to anxiety, it’s related to my heart rate/POTS. Often times upon standing and speaking, my tachycardia gets out of control. It’s my natural reaction to “fight through it” but that’s the worst thing I can do because while I may appear to be simply standing my heart rate is skyrocketing well over 150. This creates intense fatigue that may hit me a few minutes later along with intense nausea. By Henry alerting to a breath or two he brings my attention to the fact that I need to sit down or stop speaking for a bit until my heart rate decreases. While we train for this task my breathes are a bit more intense, as he becomes more in tune with me he will be able to pick up even the subtle differences.
*AD: Henry and I sit on the carpeted floor. I am leaning on the couch with my hands in my lap, holding a clicker. As I take a couple deep breaths Henry gets up and paws at my lap. I then “click” and reward him with treats from the bag next to me.
Today I got to go see Momma Kristie!! It’s only been a couple weeks but she said I was really big! I recognized her voice and how she smelled (super good!). My mom didn’t seem to mind that I puked four times in her Mustang 😜 Guess I’m not used to riding in the car yet. Oh!!!! I got a new purple collar!! Momma Kristie liked it a lot. Not as much as my kisses though ❤️ #gsdpuppy#instapuppy#GloryDays
