Big drug makers and other special interests are right now lobbying Congress and the Administration to fundamentally overhaul the Medicare prescription drug benefit (Medicare Part D). This agenda pushed by special interests would increase premiums, raise prescription drug costs for millions of American seniors, and tack on new taxpayer costs.
It also could result in millions of seniors losing their lower-cost preferred pharmacy plan and being forced into a more expensive prescription drug plan.

My #StLPeeps: The #stlouisnonprofit that I've happily worked with for the last five years, Bilingual International, is having its first #TriviaNight on November 4th 2017 at the #EthicalSociety, in #stlouis. We are raising funds since many of our programs have been cut recently.
Our #ACA4StL project to get everyone, who doesnt have health insurance, enrolled in #AffordableCare, #Obamacare, will be under way soon. I've set up two enrollment appointments already. This past Tuesday, I helped enroll a newly eligible client into #MedicarePartD, she was happy to be saving over $100 on her monthly Rx prescriptions. One of my previous clients contacted me this week to help him resolve enrollment issues with his #MissouriFoodStamps and #MissouriMedicaid cases. He has just found out he's very sick. This is just a portion of my week, but already my work has touched four families, and there are so many to help.
I am daily grateful, that I can assist so many clients to achieve their goals, i.e. have health insurance, communicate with their MDs, be financially independent from their families, etc.
So please support me to do my important work with immigrants and refugees in Saint Louis community for #socialservices, #mentalhealth, and #kidsprograms.
For more on our services, please check out our website: bilingualstl.org #bilingualstl
Thank you for your time! I hope to see you at Trivia on the 4th!

Enrollment complete for the Rents. Medicare Part D. For 2016 Medicare coverage, open enrollment is in the fall of 2015, from October 15 to December 7. Medicare recipients reaching the donut hole will benefit from better prescription drug discounts. The gap in prescription drug coverage (donut hole) starts when someone reaches the initial coverage limit ($2,960 in 2015), and ends when they have spent $4,700. (In 2015, both of these thresholds will likely change slightly for 2016.)Prior to 2011, Medicare Part D enrollees paid the full cost of their medications while in the donut hole. But the ACA has been steadily closing the donut hole, and it will be fully closed by 2020. At that point, enrollees will pay just 25 percent of the cost of their drugs all the way up to the catastrophic coverage threshold. For 2016, while in the donut hole, enrollees will pay 45 percent of the cost of brand name drugs (unchanged from 2015) and 58 percent of the cost of generic drugs (down from 65 percent in 2015). #Medicare#partD#rx#MedicarePartD
