This little sweetheart is Allie. She is one of our Paws Pet Services home care clients. Allie has a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia, or CH.
CH is a non-progressive condition, meaning it does not get worse. The part of the brain (cerebellum) which controls small motor skills and coordination is not completely mature at birth.
Allie has a big sister named Bobble who also has CH and two sisters who do not. A neighbor girl who knew Bobble and her condition came across Allie when a friend’s family cat had kittens. The family was considering having the ‘sickly’ little wobbly kitten in the litter put down. This young girl told the family about Bobble and CH and brought the two families together. Thanks to one child who paid attention, Allie has the perfect forever home.
Allie is a normal, playful little kitten in every other way. She loves attention, toys and her sister kitties. She climbs her cat tree, and even my jeans when she wants attention!
Thank you for taking time to read Allie’s story. Feel free to share this post to educate others. Who knows, you may just save a wobble kitty’s life!
Lucy's been working hard on understanding that she needs to wait and be invited out doors. This can be useful for dogs who have a habit of door dashing or if you pup is just super excited to get in or out the door, it can calm their excitement enough for you to get everything you need and not having your dog pulling like crazy in the process!
